Abstract
Abstract Novel spiro benzocyclane acetic acid compounds of the formula WHEREIN R is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and linear and branched alkyl of one to four carbon atoms, R1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, chlorine, trifluoromethyl and lower alkoxy, Y is selected from the group consisting of methylene, oxygen and sulfur, n is 2, 3 or 4 and R2 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl of one to six carbon atoms and cation of nontoxic, pharmaceutically acceptable mineral and organic bases, processes for their preparation and novel intermediates. The compounds of formula I have analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties.
