Abstract
Abstract An apparatus for continuously forming an impregnated paper web with corrugations or pleats extending diagonally to the edges of the web in an elongated form movable along a straight path and formed with grooves extending in the same diagonal direction and entered by projections from a forming head rotatable about an axis parallel to said diagonal grooves, said projections being disposed in such a manner that at least one projection always retains a corrugation or pleat formed by the same in the paper web pressed against the form so as to prevent a sliding back movement of the web during formation of the next following corrugation.
