Abstract CATALYST PARTICLES SUITABLE FOR PREPARING ALPHA-OLEFIN POLYMERS IN THE FORM OF 5 TO 15 MICRON PARTICLES ARE PREPARED BY REDUCING TIC14 WITH AN ALKYLALUMINUM DIHALIDE AT CONTROLLED LEVELS OF TITANIUM CONCENTRATION, ALUMINUM CONCENTRATION, AND AL/TI RATIO. THE REDUCTION IS CARRIED OUT AT ROOM TEMPERTURE UNDER QUIESCENT CONDITIONS.
