Abstract
Abstract A POLYAMIDE-ACID IS PREPARED BY REACTING A DIANHYDRIDE WITH A DIAMINE FORMED FROM THE REACTION OF A DIEPOXIDE COMPOUND AND A DIAMINE. THE RESULTANT POLYAMIDE-ACID IS THEN CONVERTED TO A POLYIMIDE BY HEATING. THE POLYIMIDE COMPOUND IS USEFUL FOR ELECTRICAL INSULATING PURPOSES, ESPECIALLY IN THE FORM OF COATINS ON ELECTRICAL CONDUCTORS.
