Abstract
Abstract A heater control circuit for use in packaging thermoplastically wrapped articles is disclosed. The circuit computes the time that electrical power is removed from a packaging machine heater; and when power is re-applied to such a heater, the power level is set in accordance with such computed time, thereby to compensate for the cooldown of the heater. In a preferred form of the invention, the computing is by means of an exponential clock that has a time constant similar to the cool-down time constant of the heater.
