Abstract A CHEMICAL DEPOSITION PROCESS FOR PRODUCING CONTINUOUS NODE-FREE FILAMENTS OF BORON OVER CARBON BY REDUCING A BORON-CONTAINING GAS, SUCH AS BORON TRICHLORIDE, ON A RESISTIVELY HEATED CARBON SUBSTRATE, THE CARBON SUBSTRATE BEING PRETREATED WITH GRAPHITE TO PREVENT THE FORMATION OF HOT SPOTS DURING DEPOSITION.
