Abstract
Abstract BLOOD SAMPLES ARE SUCCESSIVELY AND CENTRIFUGALLY LOADED INTO A SAME CAPILLARY CHAMBER DEFINED IN A CONTINUOUSLY ROTATING CENTRIFUGE HEAD TO MEASURE THE RESPECTIVE PACKED CELL VOLUMES. THE CAPILLARY CHAMBER IS OPEN-ENDED AND HAS A SERPENTINE CONFIGURATION, I.E., IT REVERSES UPON ITSELF, TO TRAP AND RETAIN A FIXED VOLUME OF EACH SUCCESSIVE BLOOD SAMPLE FOR CENTRIFUGING. THE CAPILLARY CHAMBER IS PURGED OF A PACKED BLOOD SAMPLE BY THE INTRODUCTION OF A NEXT SUCCESSIVE BLOOD SAMPLE.
