Abstract

Abstract The template has its outer boundry walls of greater height than the inner dividing walls. The width of the dividing wall is determined by the desired width of the pattern separation lines. Both the outer walls and the dividing walls are taped upwardly to prevent color particles from lodging on the template. The under surfaces of the template are formed either concave or with depending flanges so as to prevent the template from picking up any appreciable amount of liquid plastic when it is removed. The template is flexible so as to conform to irregularities in the surface to be coated.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 5
Claim 1
Independent Claim 129 words
A template for use in fabricating a seamless plastic surface having an embossed, multicolored, textured, and patterned appearance comprising: a plurality of outer wall portions that define the perimeter of said template; a plurality of inner wall portions that divide said template inTo a given design; said outer wall portions being of greater height than said inner wall portions; said outer and said inner wall portions having upper and lower surfaces; the upper surfaces of said outer and inner wall portions being upwardly tapered; the lower surfaces of said outer and inner wall portions being undercut so as to provide at least one depending flange; and said lower surfaces providing a contact surface that presents a transverse area that is less than maximum transverse width of said wall portions.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 129 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 46 words
A template as claimed in claim 1 wherein the lower surfaces of said outer and inner wall portions comprise a narrow tapering flange along each edge of each said wall portion and an upwardly concave space is provided between the flanges of each said wall portion.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 58 words
A template as claimed in claim 1 wherein the lower surface of each outer and inner wall portion is undercut to provide a relatively narrow central depending flange and said flange is joined to the side surfaces of said wall portion by upwardly concave surfaces, said side surfaces terminating at points higher than the bottom of said flange.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 17 words
A template as in claim 3 wherein said outer and inner walls are formed of flexible material.
