Abstract A NORMALLY TACKY AND PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE TAPE HAVING SUPERIOR PROPERTIES, WHEREIN THE ADHESIVE IS BASED UPON THE COMBINATION OF A PARTICULAR TYPE OF ELASTOMERIC AND THERMOPLASTIC BLOCK POLYMER WITH A TACKIFIER COMPRISING A MAJOR PROPORTION OF POLYMERIZED PIPERYLENE OR ISOPRENE AND PIPERYLENE STRUCTURES. THE BLOCK POLYMER HAS A STRUCTURE ABA, WHEREIN A IS A THERMOPLASTIC POLYMER BLOCK OF A VINYL ARENE AND POSSESSES A GLASS TRANSITION TEMPERATURE ABOVE NORMAL ROOM TEMPERATURE AND B IS AN ELASTOMERIC POLYMER BLOCK OF ISOPRENE, AND THE THERMOPLASTIC A BLOCK COMPOSES ABOUT 8-35 PERCENT BY WEIGHT OF THE BLOCK POLYMER.
