Abstract A DUAL WAVELENGTH SPECTROPHOTOMETER FOR RECORDING REACTIONS IN TURBID SUSPENSIONS OF BIOLOGICAL MATERIALS, WHEREIN ONE OF THE INSPECTION WAVELENGTHS IS HELD CONSTANT AND THE OTHER INSPECTION WAVELENGTH IS CYCLICALLY VARIED OVER A RANGE OF THE ORDER OF 40 NM. AND AT A RATE OF THE ORDER OF 20 NM/SEC. A NOISE-COMPENSATING PHOTOMULTIPLIER IS INCLUDED TO COMPENSATE FOR LIGHT SOURCE NOISE. A TAPPED POTENTIOMETER IS EMPLOYED FOR BASE LINE CORRECTION, AND A COMPARATOR AND ERROR DETECTORIS EMPLOYED TO ADJUST THE PHOTOMULTIPLIER HIGH VOLTAGES FOR CORRECTING WAVELENGTH-DEPENDENT SENSITIVITY ERRORS.
