Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 5
Claim 1
Independent Claim 295 words
Improvement in a machine for distributing feed, fertilizer and other grain or powder masses comprising a container for the mass to be distributed having an outlet opening in its lower end, a downwardly depending outlet passage connected at its upper end to the outlet opening from said container, a centrifugal fan located at the lower end of said outlet passage, a first shaft in alignment with said outlet passage, said centrifugal fan mounted on said first shaft for rotation therewith, a second shaft positioned within said first shaft and independently rotatable thereof, an impeller located within said outlet passage between the outlet opening from said container and said centrifugal fan and said impeller mounted on said second shaft for rotation therewith, a disc mounted on and extending transversely of said second shaft and located at the lower end of said outlet passage, said disc extending radially outwardly from said outlet passage and separating said outlet passage from said centrifugal fan, a plurality of outwardly directed vanes positioned on the side of said disc facing the lower end of said outlet passage, said disc and vanes arranged to rotate with said impeller, a helical channel located within said impeller and terminating at its lower end at said disc for directing the material from said container to said vanes on said disc and the radially outer edges of said vanes being aligned above the radially outer edges of said centrifugal fan for uniformly directing the material into the path of said centrifugal fan at its radially outer edge, and adjustable means located at the inlet end of said helical channel for adjusting the inlet opening to said helical channel for determining the mass of material conveyed to said vanes on said disc for revolution of said impeller.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 295 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 58 words
Improvement in a machine, as set forth in claim 1, wherein said adjustable means comprises a plate rotatable relative to said impeller and disposed perpendicularly of said second shaft at the upper end of said helical channel in said impeller, so that by rotating said plate the dimension of the opening into said helical channel can be varied.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 64 words
Improvement in a machine, as set forth in claim 2, wherein said plate covering a portion of the upper end of said impeller and being rotatable about the axis of said second shaft, said plate having a chordally extendiNg edge relative to the axis of said second shaft spaced from both the axis of said second shaft and the circumferential periphery of said impeller.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 70 words
Improvement in a machine, as set forth in claim 1, wherein wall means forming a chamber enclose said outlet passage, said impeller, said disc and said centrifugal fan and its circumferential periphery is spaced radially outwardly from the circumferential periphery of said disc and said centrifugal fan, and said chamber having outlets located at its circumferential periphery spaced radially outwardly from the radial edges of said centrifugal fan and disc.
