Abstract
Abstract A rubber composition is provided having a high degree of tack in the uncured state and incorporating a para-tertiary-butylphenolaldehyde novolak resin consisting essentially of recurring groups A and B of the WHEREIN R1 is a alkyl; and R2 is a hydrocarbon radical having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; and wherein the molar ratio of B:A has a value in the range of 0.1 to 0.3.
