Abstract A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A BASE FOR AN ELECTROSTATIC RECORDING MATERIAL OR ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC SENITIVE MATERIAL, WHICH COMPRISES FORMING AN ELECTROCONDUCTIVE LAYER ON AT LEAST ONE SURFACE OF A BASE CONSISTING OF A NONMETALLIC SUBSTANCE BY TREATING SAID SURFACE WITH A TREATING MIXTURE CONTAINING COLLOIDAL ALUMINA OF MORE THAN 70% BY WEIGHT OF THE NON-VOLATILE COMPONENTS OF THE MIXTURE.
