Abstract DESCRIBES A CELL COVER FOR ALKALI CHLORINE CELLS, PRIMARILY FOR USE WITH DIMENSIONALLY STABLE ANODES, BUT ALSO USEFUL WITH GRAPHITE ANODES, WHCIH CELL COVER IS PROVIDED WITH WEAKENED AREAS, IN ACCESSIBLE PLACE IN THE CELL COVER, THROUGH WHICH THE FORCE OF EXPLOSIONS CAN BE VENTED AND WHICH WEAKENED AREAS WHEN RUPTURED BY AN EXPLOSION CAN BE EASILY REPAIRED.
