Abstract
Abstract There are disclosed herein derivatives of 9-oxo-15-hydroxy prostanoic acid, lower alkyl esters thereof, and homologs thereof, as well as a process for preparing the above acids, lower alkyl esters thereof, and homologs thereof. The compounds possess hypotensive, antihypertensive, bronchospasmolytic and gastric acid secretion inhibiting properties, as well as inhibiting the aggregation of platelets and promoting the disaggregation of aggregated platelets. Methods for their use are also disclosed.
