Abstract Novel bicyclic furofuran-diols having the structure: WHEREIN R1 and R2 are the same or different, and each of R1 and R2 are alkyl groups of one to 10 carbons, have been discovered. The compounds are valuable intermediates, for the preparation of polyols, dilactones, simple esters and polyesters.
