Abstract
Abstract A method for manufacturing a phosphor material represented by the following general formula: yMgO2.(1 - x)Ga2O3.xMO2.pMnO where: MO2 an oxide selected from the group consisting of GeO2 and SiO2 0<X < OR = 0.3 0.70 < OR = y < OR = 1.05 0.001 < OR = P < OR = 0.05 WHICH COMPRISES SUBJECTING A MIXTURE OF OXIDES HAVING A COMPOSITION EXPRESSED BY THE GENERAL FORMULA TO A PRIMARY FIRING AT A TEMPERATURE OF FROM 1,100* TO 1,475* C. in an oxidizing atmosphere, grinding and mixing the fired mass, and subjecting the resultant mixture to a secondary firing at a temperature of from 1,000* to 1,250* C. in a reducing atmosphere.
