Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 8
Claim 1
Independent Claim 251 words
A tool for connection to the end of an elongated insulated pole for use in installing suspension clamps on energized electric power-line conductors, said suspension clamps having a U-shaped body the side walls of which have centrally located upwardly projecting apertured clevis ears for receiving therebetween the depending apertured tongue of a socket member, the head of said socket member being adapted to receive the ball of a suspension insulator, the aperture in the tongue of said socket member being adapted to be aligned with the apertures in said clevis ears for receiving a clevis pin for connecting said socket member to said U-shaped body, said tool comprising: a. a base plate; b. connection means at one end of said base plate for removably connecting said tool to said elongated insulated pole; c. horizontally spaced-apart holder rods of shorter length than said base plate; d. support means fixed to an end portion of said base plate for supporting said holder rods above a portion of said base plate in parallel relation thereto; e. the vertical distance between said base plate and said holder rods being substantially equal to the height of the sidewalls of said U-shape suspension clamp at points on either side of said clevis ears, whereby said suspension clamp is adapted to be supported on said base plate and held lodged between said base plate and said holder rods; f. guide elements projecting above said holder rods for supporting said socket member in upright position above said clevis pin.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 251 words

Claim 3
Dependent Claim 56 words
A tool according to claim 1 characterized in that said holder rods are joined together at the one end to form a U-shaped holder, and in that said support means includes a post affixed to and projecting upwardly from said end portion of said base plate and connected to said one end of said holder rods.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 49 words
A tool according to claim 2 characterized in that said pole connection means are at the rearward end of said base plate, said post is affixed to the forward end portion of said base plate, and said holder rods terminate short of the rearward end of said base plate.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 222 words
A tool for connection to the end of an elongated insulated pole for use in installing suspension clamps on energized electric power-line conductors, said suspenSion clamps having a U-shaped body the side walls of which have centrally located upwardly projecting apertured clevis ears for receiving therebetween the depending apertured tongue of a socket member, the head of said socket member being adapted to receive the ball of a suspension insulator, the aperture in the tongue of said socket member being adapted to be aligned with the apertures in said clevis ears for receiving a clevis pin for connecting said socket member to said U-shaped body, said tool comprising: a. a carrier base; b. a first portion of said base having unobstructed space thereabove; c. a pair of holder bars above a second portion of said base; d. support means for said holder bars at one end thereof only; e. said support means supporting said holder bars above said base at a vertical separation equal, or substantially equal, to the height of the sidewalls of said U-shaped body of said suspension clamps at points on both sides of said clevis ears; f. said holder bars being spaced apart horizontally a distance sufficient to receive said clevis ears therebetween; g. connection means for connecting said base to the end of an elongated insulated pole.
Claim 6
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 27 words
A tool according to claim 4 characterized in that said holder bars are provided with upstanding arms for holding said socket member upright on said clevis pin.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 26 words
A tool according to claim 5 characterized in that said pole connection means are at the first portion of said base remote from said second portion.
