Abstract
Abstract A METHOD IS DISCLOSED OF PREPARING SPHERICAL PARTICLES OF ACTINIDE HYDROXIDE GEL, WHICH PARTICLES CAN BE CONVERTED BY THERMAL TREATMENT INTO SPHERICAL OXIDE, AND IF CARBON HAS BEEN INCORPORATED INTO THE GEL, CARBIDE PARTICLES. SPHERICAL ACTINIDE OXIDE AND CARBIDE PARTICLES ARE NEEDED IN NUCLEAR TECHNICS. AN ACTINIDE HYDROXIDE SOL IS MIXED WITH A SOLUTION OF ONE OR MORE AMMONIUM DONORS AND SUBSEQUENTLY GELLED BY DISPERSION INTO A HOT LIQUID NONMISCIBLE WITH WATER.
