Abstract
Abstract Loss of plasma from the loss regions of a static magnetic field confinement system is reduced by localizing in the loss region a radio frequency electromagnetic radiation which is nearly but not exactly in resonance with the ion cyclotron frequency and is arranged to reflect back into the confined plasma ions moving out of the static magnetic field through the loss regions.
