Abstract

Abstract A flexible, sealed, non-inflammable, low-weight, non-extensible conductive wire having great tensile and bending strength and resistance to friction comprising a core material composed of a very good conductor of electricity, this core material being electrically insulated; a sheath comprising a bundle of metallic wires that are either conductive or may be made conductive, this sheath having high strength; and a protective envelope comprising at least one coating layer. This high-strength, low-weight, nonextensible conductive wire is particularly well adapted for use in the remote control of rockets or in other applications where resistance to high temperature and high stress is necessary.
