Abstract METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR AUTOMATICALLY TRANSFERRING REGISTERING AND COMBINING FABRIC WORKPIECES, INCLUDING MEANS FOR MOVING THE FABRIC WORKPIECE OVER A SUPPORTING SURFACE UPON WHICH THEY CAN BE SLID, MEANS FOR IMPELLING ONE OR MORE OF THEIR EDGES OUTWARDLY AGAINST ONE OR MORE STOP SURFACES IN KNOWN POSITIONS TO REGISTER THE WORKPIECES WITH RESPECT TO THE POSITIONS OF THE STOP SURFACES, AND MEANS FOR MAINTAINING THE KNOWN ORIENTATION AND RELATIONSHIP RELATIVE TO THE OTHER WORKPIECES DURING THE SUBSEQUENT TRANSFER OF THE WORKPIECES FOLLOWING REGISTRATION AND DURING THE COMBINING THEREOF.
