Abstract
Abstract A spring wire device having a special planar configuration is inserted between two teeth to be separated in preparation for orthodontic banding. An activating portion of the inserted device projecting from the teeth is crimped by a bending plier to effect relative lateral deformation of occlusal and gingival arm portions exerting spreading forces on the teeth.
