Abstract
Abstract A matrix amplifier for color television receivers employs two transistors of opposite conductivity types having their emitters coupled together. The base of a first transistor is coupled to a source of narrow band frequencies, such as color difference signals, which drives the first transistor in a common emitter mode. The base of the second transistor is coupled to a source of wideband signals, such as luminance signals. By virtue of the emitter coupling, the first transistor operates in a common base mode for the wideband signals. A matrixed output of the narrow and wideband frequencies is taken from the collector of the first transistor.
