Abstract POROUS POLYMERS ARE PREPARED BY POLYMERIZATION OF A POLYFUNCTIONAL METHYACRYLATE SUCH AS TRIMETHLOLPROPANE TRIMETHYLACRYLATE, EITHER ALONE OR IN CONJUNCTION WITH OTHER COMONOMERS IN THE PRESENCE OF A VARIETY OF PHASE SEPARATING SOLVENTS. THESE POROUS POLYMERS ARE USEFUL AS ADSORBANTS IN BOTH AQUEOUS AN NON-AQUEOUS MEDIA AND, WHEN IONIC FUNCTIONAL GROUPS ARE INCORPORATED INTO THE RESIN STRUCTURE, ARE ALSO USEFUL AS ION EXCHANGE RESINS.
