Abstract A METHOD OF MAKING ACRYLATE FOAMS BY DISPERSING A GAS IN AN AQUEOUS DISPERSION OF AN ACRYLATE POLYMER COMPRISING MORE THAN 50 PERCENT BY WEIGHT OF AN ESTER OF ACRYLIC OR METHACRYLIC ACID, AND THEN REMOVING WATER FROM THE MIXTURE. THE DISPERSION CONTAINS AT LEAST 55 PERCENT BY WEIGHT OF SOLIDS HAVING A CRITICAL AVERAGE PARTICLE SIZE AND PARTICLE SIZE DISTRIBUTION DEFINED BY THE SETTLING CHARACTERISTICS OF THE DISPERSION WHEN CENTRIFUGED. ACRYLATE FOAMS MADE BY THIS METHOD.
