Abstract
Abstract A method of shattering a freely falling liquid stream by means of downwardly directed jets which strike the stream at a common impact zone. The jets issue from two or more nozzle systems, the flow from one system striking the stream at an angle different from that at which the flow from at least one other system strikes. Each nozzle system comprises one or more nozzles and the nozzle or nozzles of one system may be located at a level different from that at which the nozzle or nozzles or another system are located.
