Abstract
Abstract Apparatus is provided for burning sulfur which combines a jacketed pipe and a nozzle for spraying sulfur at a controlled temperature in a first chamber, a second chamber where the sulfur is burned downstream from the nozzle and a third chamber where the combustion product is mixed with acid gas to provide a mixture of gases suitable for transfer to a Claus reactor.
