Abstract

Abstract A centrifugal governor for an injection internal combustion engines of the supercharging type. A lever is connected to an interlocking rod to be axially thrusted by the centrifugal force of governor weights, and an oscillating lever opposes the thrust of the interlocking rod and is subjected to the force of a spring. An auxiliary lever has as a supporting point an engaging point with a stopper bolt disposed in the oscillating lever and as acting points first and second pins pivotally connecting the oscillating lever to said interlocking rod. A follower lever displaces a control rod and a spring stretched between the first mentioned lever and the auxiliary lever so that in the supercharged rotation limits of an engine, the control rod is displaceable through the follower lever by means of the thrust of the interlocking rod and the oscillation of the auxiliary lever with respect to the force of the spring acting on the second pin.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 3
Claim 1
Independent Claim 292 words
A centrifugal governor for a fuel injection internal combustion engine of the supercharging type comprising: a housing, a connecting rod axially movably mounted in the housing, governor weights movable outwardly under centrifugal force, such weights mounted to move the said connecting rod axially as the weights move outwardly, a first lever connected at a point to the connecting rod, said point on the first lever being movable axially with the connecting rod, an oscillating lever mounted on a pivot axis which is fixed with respect to the housing, said oscillating lever positioned in the path of the connecting rod, a spring attached to the oscillating rod and urging the same in opposition to the axial movement of the connecting rod, a follower lever mounted for pivoting movement about an axis which is fixed with respect to the housing, a control rod connected to and movable in response to movements of the follower lever, and an auxiliary lever pivotably connected to both the connecting rod and the follower lever, a second spring urging the auxiliary lever against the first lever in opposition to the force of the governor weights acting on the auxiliary lever through the connecting rod, and a stop element fixed to the oscillating lever and arranged to abut the auxiliary lever at a fulcrum point between the auxiliary lever pivot points before the control rod engages the oscillating lever, the force of the second spring being such that a predetermined force of the governor weights applied to move the control rod axially, the auxiliary lever will turn about said fulcrum against the force of the second spring and thus through its pivot connection to the follower lever, turn the follower lever to move the control rod to supercharge the engine.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 292 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 44 words
A centrifugal governor according to claim 1 in which said stop element comprises a bolt threadedly engaged in the oscillating lever and engaging said auxiliary lever such that the axial position of the bolt relative to the oscillating lever and the fulcrum is adjustable.
