Abstract SYNTHETIC LINEAR POLYAMIDES ARE STABILIZED AGAINST THE DEGRADATIVE EFFECTS OF HEAT, OXYGEN AND ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS BY INCORPORATING THEREIN A HALOGEN COMPOUND, FOR EXAMPLE IODOFORM, EITHER ALONE OR IN COMBINATION WITH A COPPER COMPOUND WHICH IS SOLUBLE IN THE POLYAMIDES.
