Abstract

Abstract In an electrical connector having component parts capable of being assembled in the field, a pair of housing members each having an inner portion of electrically insulating elastomer and an outer portion of electrically conductive elastomer with a generally continuous and void-free juncture between the inner and outer portions, the junctures being routed around potential voids and following a continuous contour in the vicinity of the assembled ends of the housing members to avoid deleterious and concentrated electrical stresses in that vicinity.
