Abstract
Abstract A magnetic head assembly wherein a pair of unitary body members, each made up of a plurality of alternating layers of magnetic material and spacer material, are joined along two surfaces by means of a gapping material. A third unitary body member is provided which has layers of magnetic material registering with the layers of magnetic material of the other body members to provide a plurality of separate paths for magnetic flux.

Claim 1
Independent Claim
130 words
A magnetic head assembly comprising first and second unitary body members formed from slicing a block of alternating layers of magnetic material and spacer material, a gapping material joining the two surfaces of said body member formed as a result of said slicing to define at least one magnetic gap between said body members, and a third unitary body member connected to said first and second body members, said third body member having alternating layers of magnetic material and spacer material extending parallel to said magnetic gap and registering with said magnetic material and spacer material of said first and second body members, respectively, the layers of magnetic material of said third body member projecting from their respective layers of spacer material and being adapted to receive a coiled conductor.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
34 words
The assembly of claim 1 wherein said first and second body members are formed to define a space therebetween, said projecting layers of magnetic material of said third body member extending across said space.
