Independent Claim
29 words
An imaging process according to claim 1 further includIng the steps of transferring said toner image to a receiving surface and fusing said toner image on said receiving surface.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
334 words
An imaging process comprising the steps of forming a toner image by establishing an electrostatic latent image on a surface and contacting said surface with a treated xerographic toner comprising toner particles, said toner particles having a particle size range of up to about 30 microns and a melting point of at least about 110* F, said toner particles comprising a colorant selected from the group consisting of pigments, dyes, and mixtures thereof and a thermoplastic resin consisting essentially of a polymeric esterification product of a diol comprising a diphenol having the general structure wherein R is selected from the group consisting of alkylene radicals having from two to 12 carbon atoms, alkylidene radicals having from one to 12 carbon atoms and cycloalkylidene radicals having from three to 12 carbon atoms; R'' and R'''' are selected from the group consisting of alkylene radicals having from two to 12 carbon atoms and arylene radicals having from 8 to 12 carbon atoms; X and X'''' are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl radicals having from one to four carbon atoms; and n1 and n2 are each at least 1 and the average sum of n1 and n2 is less than 21 and a dicarboxylic acid selected from the group consisting of acids having the general formula H OCCR''''''n3 COOH and anhydrides thereof wherein R''''''is selected from the group consisting of alkylene radicals having from one to 12 carbon atoms, alkenylene radicals having from one to 12 carbon atoms, arylene radicals, and alkylene arylene radicals having from 10 to 12 carbon atoms and n is less than 2 and from about 0.02 percent to about 20 percent by weight, based on the weight of said toner material, of at least one solid, stable hydrophobic metal salt of a fatty acid available at external surfaces of said toner particles whereby at least a portion of said finely divided toner material is attracted to and held on said surface in conformance to said electrostatic latent image.
