Abstract

Abstract An exercising device having a pair of resiliently connected handles. Each handle has a gripping portion which extends through the user''s hand to provide a hand-grasp during exercise, and connecting portions which are integral with and extend longitudinally from respective ends of the first portion. A pair of elastic tubes of equal lengths connect the handles and have an internal diameter less than the diameter of the connecting portions of the handles. One connecting portion of each handle is resiliently received in the end of a tube to interconnect the handles and allow flexation of the device by the user.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 126 words
An exercising device comprising: a pair of handles having a gripping portion to provide a handgrasp during exercise, said gripping portion having a sufficient length to extend through both sides of a hand when grasped, and each handle having connecting portions integral with and extending longitudinally from respective ends of said gripping portion; and a pair of elastic tubes each having an internal diameter less than the diameter of said connecting portions, each of said tubes interconnecting the connecting portion of one handle with the connecting portion of the other handle and the interconnections between the tubes and the handles consisting of a plurality of smoothly rounded connecting knobs at each end of each handle and said knobs telescoping within the end portions of the tube.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 126 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 35 words
The exercising device of claim 1 in which said connecting portion comprises, the outermost one of said knob of each connecting portion having an uninterrupted smoothly rounded surface defining the end of said connecting portions.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 26 words
The exercising device of claim 2 in which said connecting tube end portions terminate in lateral depressions in the connecting portions most adjacent said gripping portions.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 24 words
The exercising device of claim 3 in which the knobs adjacent said gripping portions are separated from the gripping portions by lateral circumferential depressions.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 49 words
The exercising device of claim 4 in which each of said connecting portions has a first knob defining the end of the connecting portions and a second knob intermediate said first knob and gripping portions, and in which the tube ends terminate between said second knobs and gripping portions.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 23 words
The exercising device of claim 5 in which the diameter of said lateral depressions are greater than the interior diameter of said tubes.
