Abstract

Abstract A photoelectrostatic copy sheet is prepared by using a paper base sheet having a roughness in the range of from 100 to 250 Sheffield units. Bonded to the rough surfaced paper is a photoconductive layer comprising zinc oxide and in another embodiment sub-millimicron sized particles of hydrophobic silica dispersed in a resin binder. The layer conforms to the rough fiber textured surface of the base sheet to provide a finished recording surface having a roughness in the range of from 70 to 250 Sheffield units and a gloss (75*, Gardner) not in excess of 20 percent. This sheet has the appearance, feel and handle of an uncoated piece of paper.
