Abstract
Abstract AN IMPROVED LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION, PARTICULARLY FOR USE AS A TWO-CYCLE ENGINE OIL, AND THE OPERATION OF A TWO-CYCLE ENGINE THEREWITH. THE LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION COMPRISES A MAJOR PROPORTION OF A HYDROCARBON LUBRICATING OIL AND A MINOR PROPORTION OF AN ADDITIVE WHICH ACTS AS A DISPERSANT IN ADDITION TO ENHANCING THE LUBRICITY OF THE COMPOSITION. THE ADDITIVES ARE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS CONTAINING AT LEAST TWO AMIDE LINKAGES. A NOVEL ADDITIVE OF THIS INVENTION IS OBTAINED BY CONDENSING ONE MOLE OF A DICARBOXYLIC ACID WITH TWO MOES OF A 1-(B-AMINOETHYL)2-HYDROCARBYL-2-IMIDAZOLINE TO FORM THE CORRESPONDING DIAMIDE.
