Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim
17 words
The process as defined in claim 1 wherein the molecular oxygen is in the form of air.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
14 words
The process as defined by claim 1 wherein the sulfur acid is sulfuric acid.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
97 words
In a process for the production of a sulfur dioxide-containing gas suitable for use in the manufacture of sulfuric acid, the steps of spraying waste liquor comprising a sulfur acid and a substantial amount of an ammonium salt into a first chamber of a combustion furnace, heating said waste liquor therein to a temperature of from 850* to 1,150* C. in the presence of an oxygen-containing gas, passing said gases discharging from said first chamber into a second chamber of a combustion furnace and introducing therein oxygen to obtain an SO2-containing gas essentially free of nitrogen oxides.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
22 words
A process as defined in claim 1 wherein the waste liquor comprises inorganic ammonium salts, organic ammonium salts, sulfuric acid, and water.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
22 words
A process as defined by claim 4 wherein the waste liquor comprises inorganic ammonium salts, organic ammonium salts, sulfuric acid, and water.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
14 words
A process as defined by claim 1 wherein the reaction temperature is 950*-1,050* C.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
14 words
A process as defined by claim 4 wherein the reaction temperature is 950*-1,050* C.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
14 words
A process as defined by claim 5 wherein the reaction temperature is 950*-1,050* C.
Claim 9
