I IS PREPARED BY REACTING 2,6-DIIOPROPYLPHENOL AND ISOPRENE, IN THE PRESENCE OF SULFURIC ACID OR OTHER ALKYLATING CATALYSTS; AT TEMPERATURES FROM -20* TO 150*C., DEPENDING ON THE STRENGTH OF THE CATALYST.
