Abstract
Abstract A method is provided for printing synthetic linear polyester sheet materials such as films and fabrics, in which the area of material which is to be printed is initially treated with a halogenated aromatic hydrocarbon at an elevated temperature. The halogenated aromatic hydrocarbon is then removed and a composition containing a dyestuff is applied to the treated area to provided desired indicia on the polyester material. The method of this invention is particularly useful in providing printed polyester films and printed heavy weight fabrics such as carpeting.
