Abstract
Abstract In a venturi having a wide angle divergent section, flow separation can occur near the throat resulting in throttling. Suction is applied through perforations in the venturi surface to cause reattachment with consequent increase in flow rate. Air flowing to primary zones in combustion chambers can be controlled by selective application of suction so as to vary local air/fuel ratios according to operating conditions. A similar arrangement may be applied to fuel injector vaporizing tubes.
