Abstract

Abstract An elongated arm having a generally upright end portion positionable in the hole of an oarlock on a fishing boat for holding a floating fish basket in the water adjacent the boat. A stop member, secured to a portion of the arm adjacent the upright end, cooperates with the side of the boat to limit the pivotal movement of the arm relative to the boat and thereby maintain the arm in a generally lateral position with respect to the side of the boat. The outer end of the arm has a ring carrying a flexible chain attachable to the floating fish basket. Secured to spaced portions of the rod is a downwardly open loop and an upwardly open hook for accommodating a fishing rod. Located opposite the loop is an upwardly open spiral portion for accommodating a container, as a can, a box of worms or a container for liquid beverage.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim 135 words
In combination: a boat having at least one inside oarlock with an upright hole, a holder having an elongated arm and a mount at one end portion thereof at an angle with the arm, stop means on the mount, said stop means connecting the mount with the arm, said mount removably fitted in the hole of the oarlock with the stop means engageable with the top of the oarlock, a member secured to the arm in generally perpendicular relationship to the arm and projected generally in the direction of the mount, said member engageable with the outside of the boat adjacent the oarlock to limit pivotal movement of the arm relative to the boat, and elongated flexible attachment means on the other end portion of the arm adapted to be connected to a floating object.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 135 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 16 words
The combination of claim 1 wherein: the attachment includes a hook and an elongated flexible line.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 20 words
The combination of claim 1 including: an upwardly directed spiral curved member for holding a container attached to the arm.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 46 words
The combination of claim 3 including: a first hook on the end portiOn of the arm adjacent the attachment means and a second hook on the other end portion of the arm, said first hook and second hook adapted to releasably hold an elongated fishing member.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 75 words
The combination of claim 1 including: a first upwardly open hook adjacent the attachment member at the outer end portion of the arm and a second ring having a lower end portion secured to an inner section of the arm, said first hook adapted to support the flexible portion of an elongated fishing rod and said second ring adapted to releasably hold an elongated fishing rod at the larger coupling portion adjacent the flexible portion.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 33 words
The combination of claim 1 wherein: the mount is a bolt having a body projected through the hole in the oarlock and means to hold the bolt in assembled relation with the oarlock.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 53 words
The combination of claim 1 wherein: the arm has an inner end portion with an elongated slot, and adjustable connecting means having a portion located in the slot for releasably connecting the mount to the end portion of the rod, whereby the angle of the rod can be adjusted relative to the mount.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 40 words
The combination of claim 1 wherein: the end portion of the mount is threaded and projects through the oarlock, and a nut threaded on the end portion of the mount to hold the mount in assembled relation with the oarlock.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 18 words
The combination of claim 1 wherein: the elongated arm and the member are covered with a protective coating.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 33 words
The combination of claim 1 wherein: said stop means has releasable means for adjustably connecting the mount to the arm whereby the angle of the arm relative to the mount can be changed.
