Abstract STABLE AQUEOUS DISPERSIONS OF METHYLSILSESQUIOXANE ARE PREPARED BY CONTACTING AN ALKALI OR ALKALINE EARTH METAL MONOMETHYLSILICONATE WITH AN ACID CATION EXCHANGE RESIN AND EMPLOYING AN ANIONIC OR CATIONIC SURFACTANT. THE DISPERSION MAY SUBSEQUENTLY BE NEUTRALIZED. THESE DISPERSIONS ARE USEFUL FOR IMPARTING DULLING, ANTISLIP, AND ANTISOILING CHARACTERISTICS TO FABRICS.
