Abstract
Abstract When using potash or other alkali metal salts such as carbonates, hydroxides, hydrosulfides, sulfides, or bicarbonates to absorb acid gases such as H2S and CO2 from gaseous mixtures, unexpectedly high absorption rates are obtained by adding amines which when present in critical amounts exhibit regions of liquidliquid-gas immiscibility in the separation system.
