Abstract
Abstract Apparatus for splicing and winding magnetic tape specifically designed for winding tape into cassettes in which the apparatus includes means for splicing magnetic tape to a leader on a first spool, winding a selected amount of tape on said first spool, and splicing the end of said tape to a leader on a second spool. One embodiment is designed to wind predetermined amounts of tape; in another embodiment the amount of magnetic tape that is wound is determined by detection of an information signal recorded on the magnetic tape.
