Abstract
Abstract A safety seal liner for a closure cap includes a relatively thick inner liner for engaging the inside of the cap cover and a second relatively thin innerseal liner releasably adhered to the outer surface of the inner liner and having a plurality of perforations extending through the inner liner only for venting a package when the closure cap is removed. The adhesive is spaced from the perforations.

Claim 1
Independent Claim
54 words
A composite cap liner of the innerseal type comprising the combination of a first relatively thick liner, a second relatively thin innerseal liner releasably adhered to one surface of said first liner, a plurality of perforations extending through said innerseal liner only, and the adhesive adhering said liners together being spaced from said perforations.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
22 words
The liner as claimed in claim 1 in which said perforations comprise a generally straight line extending fully across the innerseal liner.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
78 words
A closure cap comprising the combination of a cover portion, a depending skirt including container engaging means, a composite cap liner of the innerseal type including a first relatively thick liner having one surface engaging the cover portion and a second relatively thin innerseal liner releasably adhered to the other surface of said first liner, a plurality of perforations extending through said innerseal liner only, and the adhesive releasably attaching said liners together being spaced from said perforations.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
78 words
A closure cap comprising the combination of a cover portion, a depending skirt including container engaging means, a composite cap liner of the innerseal type including a first relatively thick liner having one surface engaging the cover portion and a second relatively thin innerseal liner releasably adhered to the other surface of said first liner, a plurality of perforations extending through said innerseal liner only, and the adhesive releasably attaching said liners together being spaced from said perforations.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
33 words
The cap as claimed in claim 3 in which said perforations comprise a generally straight line, and said adhesive comprises a plurality of generally straight formations generally parallel to said line of perforations.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
85 words
A sealed package comprising the combination of a container, a closure cap having a cover and a depending skirt engaging the container top, a cap liner in sealing relation between the said cap and container having a first relatively thick liner, a second relatively thin innerseal liner releasably adhered to one surface of said first liner and adhered to the container rim, a plurality of perforations extending through said innerseal liner only, and the adhesive releasably attaching said liners together being spaced from said perforations.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
85 words
A sealed package comprising the combination of a container, a closure cap having a cover and a depending skirt engaging the container top, a cap liner in sealing relation between the said cap and container having a first relatively thick liner, a second relatively thin innerseal liner releasably adhered to one surface of said first liner and adhered to the container rim, a plurality of perforations extending through said innerseal liner only, and the adhesive releasably attaching said liners together being spaced from said perforations.
