Abstract
Abstract A padlock of hardened steel having a lock mechanism inserted through an opening in the lock casing, which opening is covered by a cover plate with a very shallow surface hardening. The cover plate is initially curved and is pressed flat to fill a conical attachment recess in the lock casing.
