Abstract PROCESS FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF FIBRILLATED FILMS FROM A THERMOPLASTIC RESIN, WHICH COMPRISES STRETCHING A FILM OF A FILM-FORMING SYNTHETIC THERMOPLASTIC RESIN HAVING UNIFORMLY DISPERSED THEREIN CLOSED VOIDS HAVING AN AVERAGE DIAMETER IN A DIRECTION OF THICKNESS OF 1/40 TO 30/40 OF THE THICKNESS OF THE FILM AND HAVING A VOID RATIO OF 0.1 TO 0.6 AT A STRETCH RATIO OF 2 TO 12 IN ITS LONGITUDINAL DIRECTION THEREBY TO FIBRILLATE THE SAID FILM.
