Abstract COMPRESSED PACKING MATERIAL HAVING EXECPTIONALLY GOOD STRESS RELAXATION PROPERTIES AND GOOD CHEMICAL RESISTANCE AT 300* TO 600*F. IS PREPARED FROM MIXTURE COMPRISING ASBESTOS FIBERS AND VINYLIDENE FLUORIDE AND HEXAFLUOROPROPYLENE COPOLYMER. THE PACKING MATERIAL IS PARTICULARLY SUITED FOR MAINTAINING A STRONG SEAL BETWEEN METAL SURFACE THAT ARE SUBJECTED TO RELATIVELY HIGH OPERATING TEMPERATURES.
