Abstract
Abstract Disclosed is a method for growing crystals from solution wherein the rate of crystal growth is maintained uniform and constant. A holder for the crystal seed is constructed from material which has a specific gravity that causes it to float on the surface of the growth solution. The seed is suspended from the holder by a string or other suitable means and thereby positioned at a fixed distance below the surface where the solution is maintained at a constant saturation, thus insuring a uniform and constant growth rate of the crystal.
