Abstract
Abstract A process for the removal of sulfur dioxide from gas streams by stripping with an aqueous ammonium phosphate solution. A process for the removal of the sulfur dioxide from the aqueous solution by liquid-liquid extraction with an immiscible organic amine solution. Next, recovering the sulfur dioxide from the organic solution by vacuum or steam distillation.
